What started with a pony camp in 1997 has long since become a popular venue for top-class young riders from all over the world. Twenty-five different countries will meet in Hagen for the “Aachen of the youth” from 10 - 16 June 2014 when the Hof Kasselmann invites for the Future Champions, the German Nations Cup for the generation aged 21 and younger.
Each time the pony riders, children, juniors and young riders hold their Nations Cup in Germany, long trips are willingly accepted. From a few hundred kilometers from the European neighbouring countries to 8,000 km straight-line distance from the US and approx. 15,000 km from Australia, the host country of Horses & Dreams 2015. All participating countries seem to agree that it is always worthwhile to come to Hagen.
780 mobile stalls for the four-legged guests have been set up the last days, approx. 1.3 hectare stable facilities under a tent. Approx. 350 horse trailers are moved for Future Champions and are parked on the show grounds during the tournament days. The basic conditions with the huge show jumping stadium, the two competition arenas for the dressage riders and the many warm-up areas and spacious stalls are of outstanding quality and hard to top.
Boundaries vanish at Future Champions as the self-evident hospitality of the Kasselmann-family outshines everything. 52 Nations Cups have been held in the different junior age-groups at the Hof Kasselmann since 1997, Future Champions in June 2014 will feature seven more Nations Cup contests.
Future Champions is very popular and has regularly shown to be a unique and excellent stepping stone to launch brilliant equestrian careers. The list of former champions is long and confirms the outstanding importance and quality – the 2012 Olympic Champion, 2013 European Champion, 2014 World Cup Champion and current number one of the FEI World Dressage Rankings, Charlotte Dujardin from Great Britain, gained first international show experiences at this young rider competition, just as the German top dressage riders Helen Langehanenberg (Olympic team silver medal in 2012, team gold and individual silver medal at the 2013 European Championships, second at the 2014 FEI World Cup and second at the current FEI World Rankings) and Kristina Sprehe (team silver medal at the 2012 Olympics in London, 2013 team European Champion and 2014 German Champion).
