The FEI Bureau has today allocated host cities for a number of major FEI dressage championships events over the next three years. Malmo, Gothenburg and Ermelo will take centre stage the next three years with European and World Championships.
The 2015 European Pony Championships in Jumping, Dressage & Eventing were allocated to Malmo, Sweden, with 5-9 August 2015 as tentative dates.
The 2017 European Dressage Championships were allocated to Gothenburg, Sweden, with 22 - 27 August 2017 as tentative dates. Gothenburg has won out in its joint-bid to host the 2017 European Jumping, Dressage & Para-Equestrian Dressage, and Driving Championships. Rotterdam (NED) was the other bidder for the European Jumping Championships 2017.
The 2016 - 2018 World Young Dressage Horses Championships have been allocated to Ermelo, The Netherlands. Eremlo won the multi-year application to host the World Championship for Young Dressage Horses from 2016 until 2018. The tentative dates are 11-14 August 2016 and August 2017 and 2018.
“The FEI always welcomes new venues for its Championships and Finals and it’s good to see some different cities included in today’s allocations," said FEI Secretary General Ingmar De Vos.
The allocations come on the back of yesterday’s announcement that the FEI flagship event, the 2018 World Equestrian Games will take place in Canada.
