At the beginning of the 2014 outdoor show season, the AXA Office of Uwe & Frank Ostwald have signed a sponsorship contract with German young riders team member Juliette Piotrowski.
"For a few years now we've been following this young rider with great interest and have been supporting her in the dressage sport," said Frank and Uwe Ostwald, managing directors of the AXA bank in Düsseldorf and Viersen. "We are touched by her great talent, which she continuously proves by successfully competing horses of different ages at different levels."
Frank and Uwe Ostwald have a keen interest in German dressage sport and are also the initiators of the FRR AXA Ostwald Trophy, an Under 30 Tour at Grand Prix level in Rhineland.
Ostwald is impressed by the major climb Piotrowski has made over the past five years in the dressage sport. Formerly active in show jumping, the 21-year old Juliette has been a shooting star in Germany. Not only at regional and national level has she proven her worth, but she has been very successful on the international stage as well.
The Kaarst based dressage rider earned the Golden Rider Badge last year at age 19 for making her mark aboard Dornfelder, Flick Flack and Sir Diamond at S-level. Juliette is intensively coached by her mom Claudia Haller, who is an international Grand Prix rider and trainer in her own right.
"I'm ecstatic about the future partnership with AXA office Uwe & Frank Ostwald and am very grateful for their support," said Piotrowski.
Juliette booked a career highlight last year at the 2013 European Young Riders Championships in Compiegne, France, where she won team gold and individual silver aboard her 8-year old Sir Diamond. In 2014, Juliette has already proven her worth by winning the Preis der Zukunft on Flick Flack at the 2014 CDN Munster in January. In May she finished second and third at the CDI Roosendaal in The Netherlands and won the bronze medal at the 2014 Preis der Besten in Warendorf. In June she placed second twice at the German European Championship selection trial at the 2014 CDIO-PJYR Hagen and qualified for the German team to compete at the 2014 European Young Riders Championships in Arezzo, Italy, in July.
Together with Piotrowski, AXA managing directors Uwe and Frank Ostwald have more in store for the future. The trio will aim to support more young and ambitious riders who need help to be active and thrive in the equestrian sport. More news on future AXA equestrian partnerships to come!
