Dutch WEG team candidate Danielle Heijkoop and her Dutch warmblood gelding Siro (by Gribaldi) have withdrawn from competing on the Dutch team at the 2014 CDIO Aachen set to begin on Wednesday 16 July 2014.

Heijkoop's 15-year old Siro is not fit to compete.

"On Wednesday I felt something strange. The farrier came and diagnosed an abscess in both hooves," Danielle explained. "I have been unable to ride for a few days because of that. If his feet are fine tomorrow and are no longer tender I can ride again on Tuesday."

Heijkoop cited that she thinks the preparation for a big show as Aachen is too short and has decided to withdraw.

The rider will now focus on the Dutch Championships in Hoofddorp at the end of July, which are the final Dutch WEG team selection trial.
