The Westfalian licensed breeding stallion Paradiesvogel has passed away at age 25. The black stallion was the most significant offspring by Parademarsch I and was a successful dressage and jumping horse producer.
"He was enjoying his retirement in the field, from where he also said his last good bye," stated owners Harald and Michael Unger of Gestut Kafernburg, where the black stallion stood after having served at the state stud of Neustadt/Dosse for many years.
Paradiesvogel was born in 1989 and bred by Günter Dieckmann-Grosshundorf from Lippetal, Germany. He was sired by Parademarsch I out of State Premium Mare Discothek (by Disco Star x Perlkönig).
Paradiesvogel completed the Stallion Performance Test with success, finishing third overall and scoring the highest mark for rideability (138.73).
The stallion was trained and competed up to Prix St Georges level. The sport rights belonged to the State Stud of Neustadt/Dosse, the breeding rights to Gestut Kafernburg.
Paradiesvogel produced 34 State Premium Mares and 4 licensed sons, including Paracelsius, Paradieskonig and Paradiesfalter. As a dam sire he is represented in licensed stallions Quatergold (by Quaterback), Aktionar F (by Akzento), and Quadrofino (by Quaterback).
The stallion's most renowned dressage offspring is the former French Grand Prix team horse Paradieszauber (Catherine Henriquet).
