The multiple European Championship gold medal winning pony Golden Girl will be competed by Ann Kathrin Linsenhoff's FEI Pony level riding daughter Marie Linsenhoff in the future.
Owned by the Rothenberger family, the 12-year old Golden Girl is a German Riding Pony mare by Don't Worry x Dancer. Discovered as a youngster at the Westfalian elite auction, Golden Girl was first acquired by Adri Gordijn, grand father of the Rothenberger kids before the pony moved to Bad Homburg in Germany.
The mare was first competed at FEI pony level by Gordijn's grand daughter Antoinette te Riele who won kur gold at the 2010 European Pony Championships in Bishop Burton. The bright palomino then moved to the Rothenberger family where he became the ride for Semmieke Rothenberger.
Semmieke and Golden Girl won team and Kur gold at the 2012 European Championships. She last competed the mare at the South German regional championships in Seelitz, before handing her over to Marie Linsenhoff. Marie is currently getting acquainted with the mare at Gestut Erlenhof and will move to Linsenhoff's Schafhof at a later date.
"With several top ponies in our stable, it is always a challenge to make a decision which pony will compete for Germany at the European Championships. Already for two years we left Goldi, who was the European Champion in 2009, 2010 and 2012, at home. It also hurt a little to see the competition and know that she would have competitive enough for a medal. Still, in Semmieke's last pony year we want to give the mare the chance to be part of it again."
Semmieke still has her current European Pony Champion Deinhard B as well as Paso Double to ride, alongside her junior rider's mount Geisha.
