British Alice Oppenheimer and the 8-year old Oldenburg bred Sir Soccrates dominated the Developing Prix St Georges horse division at the 2015 CDIO Vidauban in France on 5 - 8 March 2015. The British duo won the Prix St Georges with 70.737% and the Intermediaire I with 71.184%. The division was open to horses aged 7 to 9.
Oppenheimer brought two horses to Vidauban to compete: her Grand Prix mount Headmore Delegate (by Dimaggio) and the young FEI star Sir Soccrates. With two trophies in the Developing PSG Horse division, a second place in the Grand Prix with 70.320% and a fourth spot in the Special with 69.196% Alice had major success in sunny South of France.
"Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought that we could have such an incredible week," Oppenheimer commented. "Vidauban is a fantastic show with a gorgeous location and good facilities. They have also been incredibly helpful; for example organising a tyre change as we had a blow out on the way so have one new tyre and one older tyre! I'd definitely come again!"
Alice was very pleased with the performances of Sir Soccrates, who is a British bred Oldenburg by Sir Donnerhall I x White Magic and owned by Tantoni Warmbloods. She trains with Charlotte Dujardin and Erik Theilgaard.
"I was very pleased with him asit was only the third time he had done the PSG test and only his first attempt at Inter I," said Oppenheimer. "The Prix St Georges test felt very safe but I had more power in the Inter I, although understandably he felt a little wobbly in places."
