Dr. Ulf Möller is not only the “Australian appointee” at Horses & Dreams meets Australia and responsible for the native Australian inhabitants to come to the Hagen Borgberg, he also presented another highlight at the press conference, approx. 20 hours before the start of 2015 CDI Hagen equestrian event. “Damon Hill be participate at Horses & Dreams,” Möller happily announced the good news.
The 17-year-old Jill-Marielle Becks rode her first competition with the well-known stallion at the Preis der Besten qualifier in Vechta last weekend and is now ready to start at the CDI 1*-tour (Prix St. Georges) on Wednesday afternoon 22 April 2015. The duo already shined in Vechta, scoring more than 80%, and with sights set on the 2015 European Young Rider Championships, they will now add the venue in Hagen as first international horse show to their competition schedule.
Kristina Sprehe from Dinklage will also show up in the Almased Dressage Stadium. She is the title holder and will compete with her top stallion Desperados in the Meggle Champions qualifier while participating with the 9-year-old Fürst Fugger at the Nurnberger Burgpokal qualifier. “Desperados is perfectly fit, and we are both looking forward to the first competition of the outdoor season,” Sprehe explained.
Organizer Ulli Kasselmann was quite confident at the opening press conference of Horses & Dreams: “First I will go for a ride tomorrow morning, then I will inspect the event area one more time to check whether the team has thoroughly prepared everything,” said a relaxed host.
Show jumping rider Armin Schäfer jun. is perfectly prepared for Horses & Dreams, as usual, particularly for the equestrian biathlon of the Sparkasse Osnabrück. Schäfer had some difficulties to mount the horse again in the first year, he won in 2013 and finished second in 2014. “I think equestrian biathlon is a fantastic idea – excitement for the audience and fun for the riders,” Schäfer explains. “It’s double pressure for me: The show jumping colleagues spur me on to ride even faster, and my hunter colleagues will mock me if I miss the target.”
François Kasselmann is looking forward to the fifth edition of the DKB-Riders Tour in Hagen. This event would of course attract well-known riders to Hagen, the head of the show jumpers at Horses & Dreams explained, and he also revealed his favourite in the show jumping stadium: Patrick Stühlmeyer.
