2015 World Championships for Young Dressage Horses

The 2015 World Young Horse Championships in Verden, Germany, celebrated its first international winner on Wednesday 5 August 2015. The Danish warmblood mare Sirikit (by Hotline x Don Schufro) won the opening class for 7 and 8-year old former World Young Horse Championship participants.

The 7-year old mare was carefully presented by Danish rider Carina Nevermann-Torup.  The 25-year-old Nevermann Torup has been training Sirikit since the age of five. Breeder and owner Peter Christensen entrusted the rider with the mare as both had already achieved the fourth place in the Small Final of six-year-old horses in 2013. Sirikit convincingly outpaced the other competitors with a final score of 75.37.

Since last year Verden’s organizing committee has been offering a special international class for horses that have already successfully competed in the divisions for five- and six-year-old horses at the World Championships before.

Austrian Sandra Nuxoll and Stand By Me landed second place with 71.806% followed by Spanish Jordi Domingo on Statesman (by Sandro Hit) with 71.528%.

On Thursday 6 August two seperate classes for the 7 and 8-year old former Verden participants will take place.
