The 2015 General Assembly of the European Equestrian Federation (EEF) was held on 14 October 2015 in Warsaw (POL). A record number of 26 National Federations(NFs) as well as 4 associate members were present at the venue.

Hosted by the Polish Equestrian Federation, the gathering included major highlights in the agenda such as the Olympic Agenda 2020 and the EEF Board Elections.

In the run up to the FEI General Assembly, the participants had the chance to discuss the dynamics of the Olympic future. Not only on discipline basis but also as a consolidated approach, the occasion proved to be the first continental opportunity after the FEI Sports Forum in April.

Another highlight was the EEF Board elections. During the application period, 9 candidates had come forward for a total of 4 available seats. In a voting of successive rounds, Theo Ploegmakers (NED), George Dimaras (GRE), Andrew Finding (GBR) and Nayla Stössel (SUI) have been elected as EEF Board Members for a term of 4 years (2019).

In his statement, the President of the EEF Dr. Hanfried Haring, said : “Looking at the constantly increasing attention and interest towards EEF, I can only thank all candidates. First time we had guest speakers as well as colleagues from other continental associations. This shows that we are on the right track. In addition to our re-elected board members, I would like to welcome Nayla Stössel in our board. Before the elections, I have already stated that we would like to work with all candidates in future no matter they are elected or not. Our discussions on other topics also proved to be of essence especially timing wise. We continue the efficient exchange of information at the FEI General Assembly.”

The EEF has the next meeting as continental association during the FEI General Assembly in San Juan(PUR).
