Newly appointed FEI Dressage Committee member Klaus Roeser has publicly expressed his vision, role and goal on the committee as representative of the International Dressage Event Organizers committee (IDEO).

The 51-year old Roeser replaces German Thomas Baur, who was the IDEO representative on the FEI Dressage Committee from 2009 till 2015.

"From the German side we now again have the possibility to positively influence future dressage events for the international show organizers," Roeser told Dressursport Deutschland on him taking over the position from Baur.

Roeser also revealed that keeping dressage in the Olympics is the number one priority on his agenda.

"If dressage would lose its Olympic status, it will have massive consequences for all dressage events. We have to develop formats which make our sport more exciting; not only for the spectators on the scene but also for the television viewers and others who follow the sport via the internet. The more people are enthused by our sport, the better it is for all who are involved with it."
