Grand Prix rider Jorinde Verwimp and Under 25 rider Laurence Roos are the only two dressage riders submitted to the VLP Talent Team for 2016. The new 2016 VLP Talent Team was announced at the 2015 CDI Mechelen on Saturday 26 December 2015.
The VLP Talent Team is part of the Talent Plan of the Flemmish Equestrian Federation and includes A and B-team listed riders. The A-squad riders are part of the Talent Team.
The VLP Talent Plan was established a decade ago to help promote Belgian young international riders across the Olympic disciplines to make a successful transition to the senior divisions.
All A and B-team listed riders get mental coaching, personal training, feeding advise, media training. For dressage this includes regular training sessions with Anky van Grunsven in Erp, The Netherlands.
Verwimp and Roos join show jumpers Jos Verlooy, Boy-Adrian van Gelderen, Gilles Thomas, Zoé Conter, Nicola and Olivier Philippaerts on the 2016 VLP Talent Team.
The VLP Talent plan B-team listed riders are Soraya Brison, Alexa Fairchild, Isabel Giart, Sanne Kielenstijn and Numa Verberne.
