Australian FEI rider Nicholas Fyffe has received the ride on Susan Dutta's bay gelding Lumberjack as a 2016 Rio Olympic hopeful.

Lumberjack is a 12-year old Hanoverian gelding by Lauries Crusador xx  x Landadel, which American Tim Dutta bought at the PSI Auction when the horse was four.

Under Susan Dutta the horse made its international small tour debut in February 2013 at the CDI Wellington. In 2014 the pair competed at the CDI's in Compiegne, Perl, and Hickstead. Their last international show was the CDI Saumur in September 2014, where they contested the medium tour. Dutta's coach Christoph Koschel showed Lumberjack three times in Florida on the national circuit in 2014.

“It is an opportunity that doesn’t come along very often,” Fyffe told Dressage-News. “This is super, super exciting. There is no pressure. We want to enjoy the journey.”

Fyffe has planned on showing Lumberjack at national Grand Prix level in Florida later this month before moving him into the CDI classes. Afterwards the pair will travel to Europe to continue showing there.
