2016 CDI 5* Doha Boasting Top Field of Competitors and 160,000 Euro Purse

The 2016 CHI Al Shaqab international horse show is bringing the world's best dressage and show jumping riders together in Doha, Qatar on 2 - 5 March 2016. The 5* level CDI dressage competition is promising to be more than exciting with its record purse of 160,000 euro to be distributed amongst the globe's dressage elite.

Renowned riders such as Patrik Kittel, Jessica von Bredow-Werndl, Anabel Balkenhol, Morgan Barbançon, Diederik van Silfhout, Anders Dahl have expressed their interest in competing in Doha. The judging panel for Doha includes 5* judges Andrew Gardner (GBR), Dietrich Plewa (GER), Thomas Lang (AUT), Mariette Sanders-van Gansewinkel (NED), and 4* judge Christof Umbach (LUX).

The record setting 160,000 euro purse will be divided into three with 100,000 euro allocated for the Grand Prix, 20,000 euro for the Grand Prix Special and 40,000 euro for the Kur to Music.

This 5* dressage event is the final opportunity for riders to gain the maximum amount of points for the Rio Olympic Individual Riders' Ranking right before the cut-off date of 6 March 2016.

The CDI 5* Doha is a once-in-a-lifetime experience as the iconic Al Shaqab equestrian centre has an amazing infrastructure. The state of the art facilities fulfil all requirements for the demanding equestrian professional. Its gigantic show arena with retractable roof and all weather footing guarantees optimal show conditions.

The grooms, the hardest workers in the high performance equestrian world, can experience a work-holiday in Doha as they are all quartered in a beautiful 3* sport-hotel on the premises. They will be close to the horses and yet have best facilities to rest and relax.

The CDI 5* Doha caters to all needs. The show organizers fly all participating horses for free to Doha and provides complementary accommodation for riders and grooms. This event is the ideal occasion to give your horse a first experience of flight for free, before the long journey to the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The entry field for the CDI 5* Doha is filling up fast, but Grand Prix riders can still apply for a starting place. The dressage organisation at the 2016 CHI Al Shaqab is in charge of the professional show management team of Performance Sales International.
