
The German state stud in Marbach held its annual auction of young sport horses on Saturday 12 March 2016 and Vitruv became the top seller in the collection, switching owners for 60,000 euro.
The 3-year old Vitruv is by Vitalis out of Daphne (by Dacaprio x Metteur) and sold to the Swiss Grand Prix rider Tanja Gerber, who also acquired the 3-year old Liebermann (by Lemberger x Disco Tanzer) for 9,500 euro and the 5-year old Luan (by Lavaletto) for 10,000 euro.
The second most expensive horse was the 4-year old Furstenberger (by Fleiner x Metteur), who sold for 19,000 euro to the Eberwein family.
The 4-year old Quentin (by Quadrofino x Pikfein) sold to a local buyer for 10,500 euro.
Canadian Hermann Schweizer aquired the 4-year old mare Papagena (by Pentagon's Peron x Worldly) for 14,900 euro. French buyers bought the 3-year old Dean Martin (by Demetrius x Ricordo di Leny) for 9,000 euro. A New York based customer bought Luisitto (by Lavaletto) for a bargain price of 8,000 euro.
The average price for a horse at the 2016 Gestut Marbach auction was 11,647 euro. A collection of 23 horses was sold and seven move abroad.
