Sir Skyfall, Fair Lady S, Escorial Win 2016 Bielefeld Bundeschampionate Qualifier

2016 Bundeschampionate Qualifier

The 5-year olds Sir Skyfall and Fair Lady S and the 6-year old Escorial became the winners of the Bundeschampionate qualification classes held at the 2016 Holtkamper Dressage Days in Bielefeld-Holtkamp, Germany, on Saturday 7 May 2016. Because of the huge starters' field in the 5-year old division the class was split into two.

Frederic Wandres and the Oldenburg stallion Sir Skyfall (by Sandro Hit x K2) won the first group of the 5-year olds with a total of 8.5. Wandres and Anna von Staff-Reitzenstein's stallion scored 8.5 for walk and trot, 9 for canter, 8 for submission and 8.5 for general impression. Tessa Frank and Helmut von Fircks' Hanoverian stallion First Ampere (by Ampere x Weltruhm) were second with 8.3. The bay stallion got 7 for walk, 9 for trot, 9.5 for canter, 7.5 for submission and 8.5 for general impression. Eva Möller and Hof Kasselmann's Saint Julien (by Sandro Hit x Donnerhall) were third with 8.0.

The second group of 5-year olds was dominated by Jenny Kitzing on Friedrich Schlüter's Westfalian mare Fair Lady S (by Furst Selection x Mythos) with 8.0. The chestnut mare scored 7.5 for walk, 8.5 for trot, and 8 for canter, submission and general impression. Henrike Sommer and the Westfalian stallion Flashdance (by First Selection x Belissimo M) were the runners-up with 7.7. This bay stallion got 7 for walk, 7.5 for trot, and 8 for canter, submission and general impression.

Seventeen 6-year olds were entered for the Bielefeld BuCha qualifier and Danica Duen steered Gut Neuenhof's Westfalian stallion Escorial (by Estobar x Furst Piccolo) to victory with 8.4. The bay stallion earned 9.5 for walk, 8 for trot, canter and submission and 8.5 for general impression. Former young rider Petra Middelberg was second aboard her own Westfalian gelding Bodyguard WF (by Belissimo M x Florestan) with 8.1. The liver chestnut gelding got 9 for walk, 7.5 for trot and canter, 8 for submission and 8.5 for general impression.
