Lissaro van de Helle, a Hanoverian licensed breeding stallion, double Bundeschampion and winner of the silver at the 2010 World Young Horse Championships, has been sold to the Pistner family.

Lissaro van de Helle is by Lissabon x Matcho AA and was owned by Paul Mais of Stud Farm De Helle in Belgium. Mais acquired the bay at the Hanoverian Stallion Licensing for his ability to jump. He won the 30-day stallion performance test in Münster-Handorf

The bay stallion initialy stood at stud at Hof Rüscher-Konermann and was trained and was competed by Claudia Rüscher who became triple Bundeschampionate winner with him and claimed silver at the 2010 World Young Horse Championships. When Ruscher began working for Heinrich Ramsbrock in Menslage, Lissaro was without a rider. In May 2011 Mais moved Lissaro to Edward Gal's yard in The Netherlands but the horse was there not for very long.

For the 2012 breeding season the stallion got leased to the State Stud in Celle and totally disappeared from the show scene. Celle head rider Wolfhard Witte trained the horse up to S-level and competed him at numerour local shows from M-level to small tour level from 2012 till 2016. An international career never seemed to be on the table.

The Pistner family from Bad Homburg, Germany, has now acquired the 11-year old stallion. He will become Valentina Pistner's junior riders horse for 2017.  Valentina has been competing the former European Pony Champion Champ of Class at FEI pony level and Dorino in the children's division.

"Although Valentina is only 13 she is very tall, so we decided to rather compete horse instead of pony," Valentin's mom Nicole Pistner told Eurodressage. "She might also compete in Children next year, but the plan is to move forward to Junior class."

The Pistner family was well acquainted with Lissaro as they had used him as a breeding stallion before.

"Lissaro is such a lovely horse with an excellent character and a great mover. We have had a wonderful filly out of a St.Moritz mare. Valentina and Lissaro got along very well straight away and the whole family is already totally in love with him."
