The Australian based KWPN licensed breeding stallion and Grand Prix dressage horse OO Seven has undergone colic surgery on Sunday 28 August 2016.

The 20-year old OO Seven (by Rubinstein x Doruto) was transported to the Agnes Banks Equine Clinic after developing severe colic signs and was operated on a lipoma which compromised his small intestine.

"He's currently stable but has a long road to recovery ahead," said owner Amanda Shoobridge. "Laura Lee and superhero Christine Smith went above and beyond performing an emergency tracheotomy in recovery risking her own life to save 00 Seven."

OO Seven is bred in The Netherlands by Isabel van Gisbergen. He is out of Gelbria, who also sired the KWPN licensed stallions Voice (Edward Gal) and Zuidenwind (Rose Mathisen).

OO Seven was trained and competed by Imke Schellekens-Bartels. In 2011 David and Amanda Shoobridge acquired the stallion as a sire not expecting him to go through a "second life" as an international Grand Prix horse. David brought OO Seven back to the show ring, first at small tour level in February 2012. They moved to international Grand Prix level in July 2012 and showed until May 2013 with two big tour highlight victories at the CDI-W Melbourne in March 2013.
