The black UNO Sunshine Reggae has been proclaimed the champion 2-year old mare at the 2016 Danish Warmblood Elite Mare Show in Vilhelmsborg, Denmark, on Sunday 28 August 2016.
The annual Danish Warmblood Elite Mare Show holds championship classes for foals, 2-year olds and 3-year olds.
After reviewing all 2-year old mares qualified for the elite show, the selection committee invited five 2-year olds to the champions' ring where they would battle it out for the national title.
UNO Sunshine Reggae (by San Amour x Donnerhall) received the champion's sash and title. This black filly is bred by Stutteri UNO. The judges described the mare as having the complete package: a pretty and functional mare with three realistic basic gaits, a nice top line, a large frame and good angulation in the hindquarters. Her walk was active and clear in the rhythm, the trot well suspended and an uphill canter.
The other four mares that made it to the champions' ring for 2-year olds were: Charmonix (by Charmeur x Romanov - owner: Henrik Hansen), Baunehøjens Seattle (by Sezuan x Ampere - owners Pia Gobert & Asger Lorentzen), Maskedals Beat It (by Sezuan x De Noir - owner: Per Christensen) and Tira (by Attention x Crelido - owner: Poul Vestergård & Poul Hove).
