During the board meeting at CHIO Aachen Elisabeth Juliano has been appointed by the board of the Global Dressage Foundation as a new board member. The President, HRH Princess Benedikte, announced that "Mrs Juliano now joins a group of people who are dedicated to support the communication in the dressage world and the development of the sport".

Elisabeth Juliano is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Litigation Management, Inc. She was the first in her family to develop a passion for equestrian sports. In order to afford her riding lessons, she needed to give priority to her business career.  Many years later her business went well enough to get involved with horses. She is an accomplished dressage rider, high performance dressage horse owner, USET Foundation Trustee and Chair of the Development Committee.

The Global Dressage Foundation was established on 7th July 2012, But its goal, to organise a yearly meeting called the Global Dressage Forum, has a much longer history. The Global Dressage Forum was started in 2001 by Academy Bartels in Hooge Mierde, Holland. It was based on the earlier initiative by the late Herman Duckeck, chairman of the International Dressage Trainers Club, to organise a bi-annual meeting for trainers to study the technique and knowledge of training. Instead of organising a meeting just for trainers, Academy Bartels created a new concept for all stakeholders in dressage. Sport demonstrations and lectures from top professionals and scientists were the basis for information exchange and discussion.

Academy Bartels supported the Global Dressage Forum from 2001 until 2012. To give the Global Dressage Forum an even broader and international basis the initiative was taken to establish a ‘Global Dressage Foundation’, to support the organization of the Forum and guarantee its continuity. On the request of all stakeholders Her Royal Highness Princess Benedikte of Denmark was invited to take the Presidency of the new Foundation. Fortunately she kindly accepted to be the first President of the Global Dressage Foundation. The new board member now joins forces with The President,  Dr. Wilfried Bechtolsheimer, Mrs. Madeleine Winter-Schulze and Drs. Joep Bartels.

This year's Global Dressage Forum will take place on 10-11 October in Hagen, Germany, and will be organised by Team Kasselmann.
