
During the 2016 CDI Darmstadt at the Kranichsteiner equestrian centre, the German Sport Horse society held a Last Chance foal auction on 24 September 2016. Powerdoll GE and Bond became the best sellers of the auction.
Gestut Estertal's Powerdoll GE (by Furstenball x Sandro Hit) and Dorothea Herbig's Bond (by Bon Coeur x Dimaggio) both sold for the highest price of the day, 20,000 euro. Powerdoll GE was the bronze medalist at the 2016 German Foal Championships and sold to a local buyer. Bond will move to Switzerland.
The second most expensive foal was Marvis, a colt by Millennium x Heraldik xx, presented by Rolf Rittmann. It sold for 18,000 euro.
Desigual (by Damon Cello x Quaterback), presented by Jessica Gühne, sold for 13,000 euro. The filly Schwarze Prinzessin (by Negro x Sandro Hit), presented by Rainer Lechl, sold for 11,000 euro. Gestut Horstfelde will part from their foal Belantico (by Belantis x San Amour) for 10,000 euro,.
The best selling jumper foal was Kantate (by Kannan x Asti Spumante) which fetched a price of 11,000 euro and sold to German Olympic dressage team gold medal winner Sönke Rothenberger.
Thirty-two foals were auctioned at this event. The average price of a foal at this auction was 7,735 euro.
