Forty-four riding horses, three to seven years old, found entry in this year’s catalogue for the 2016 Holsteiner Elite Riding Horse Auction held at the annual Holsteiner stallion licensing in Neumunster, Germany, on 3 - 5 November 2016. The lot is made of interesting and proven pedigrees. Besides the jumpers four dressage talents have been selected for this year’s auction. They are by Ampère, Catoo, Calandro and Clarimo.
"We are happy that we were shown that many good horses during our selecting tours. Most of them are already well schooled," says Dr. Jörgen Köhlbrandt, first time responsible for the Holsteiner elite riding horse auction. He also notes that “the collection is of very even quality."

Slight changes in the program for the licensing in Neumünster
The program for the licensing and auction days has undergone slight changes. Presentation on the triangle arena on Thursday afternoon will be scratched to give the licensing commission more opportunity to evaluate the stallions on hard ground for longer instead. After lungeing of the dressage stallions – four of them – all stallions will be presented again on the walking ring in the arena.
Sixty two-year-old stallions of a wide variety of pedigrees have cleared the first hurdle in Elmshorn and selected to appear in front of the licensing commission in Neumünster. “We will be able to present an excellent mixture of well proven Holsteiner sires, international stars and up and coming young stallions in Neumünster”, said breeding director Dr. Thomas Nissen.
Four aspiring sires stem come from Holsteiner Verband’s dressage department: Carantas, Cassilano, Quaterback and Zhivago plan to trot their sons into the dressage lovers’ hearts.
