The FEI Dressage Committee will be putting forward a rule change for approval giving them more power to warn, suspend or demote dressage judges. The rule change will be decided on at the 2016 FEI General Assembly.

The rule proposal was not publicized until American journalist Ken Braddick revealed it on Dressage News.

Eurodressage contacted the FEI, who would only disclose that, " this was included in the rules amendment proposals sent in early July to the National Federations for their review."

The proposal reads:

The FEI and the FEI Dressage Committee have the right to undertake disciplinary actions against judges who do not follow the Codex and the FEI Rules and Regulations. Such disciplinary actions may consist of:
·        Warning letter
·        Temporary suspension
·        Demotion
·        Removal from the FEI Dressage Judges’ list.

The FEI General Assembly meets on 18-22 November 2016.
