Dutch show jumping young rider Sanne Thijssen outclassed her colleague dressage riders for the title of 2016 Rabo Talent of the Year, which was awarded at the 2017 CDI-W/CSI-W Amsterdam on Friday 27 January 2017.
The 18-year old Thijssen succeeds another show jumper, the Belgian based Lisa Nooren, for this prestigious Dutch young talent title.
Four dressage riders were in the running for the 2016 Rabo Talent of the Year title, all Under 25 Grand Prix riders: Stephanie Kooijman, Anne Meulendijks, Jill Huijbregts, and Maxime van der Vlist.
The last time a dressage rider became Rabo Talent of the Year was already back in 2009 when Lotje Schoots won it. In 2014 para dressage rider Rixt van der Horst won it.
