Swedish Grand Prix rider Sofie Lexner has made her long awaited Swedish come back on Tobajo Pik Disney at the 2017 CDN Astorp on Saturday 25 March 2017. The Norwegian bred stallion took a year to rebound from injury.
Lexner's sponsor Jenny Lindén Urnes of Christinelund Dressage acquired the now 12-year old Norwegian warmblood stallion (by Tobajo Picez x Walt Disney II) in August 2015 from Norwegian Trude Hestengen who represented Norway at the 2014 World Equestrian Games and 2015 European Championships in Aachen.
Lexner and Tobajo Pik Disney made their show debut early 2016 at the CDN Hedensted in Denmark and scored 65.461% in the Inter II and 67.567% in the Grand Prix. At their first Swedish national show in Astorp on 18 March 2016 they got 67.23% in the Inter II. It was their last event as the horse got injured.
Almost one year later, Lexner and Disney had their quiet show come back on 11 November 2016 in the test of choice class at the winter indoor shows at the Ankum Riding Club in Germany. However, their big Swedish return was held at the exact same Swedish show in Astorp. They scored 70.733% in the Grand Prix for the victory.
"Disney felt great in Åstorp, I'm very happy with him. We had a few mistakes but i have to learn how he is in the arena," Lexner told Eurodressage. "We are going to make our international debut in two weeks at the CDI Nieuw en St. Joostland and after that we will see. We take it slow."
