The Equestrian Australia Dressage Committee has appointed Deborah MacNicol to the role of Dressage Chef d’Equipe for the period 2017 – 2020.
“Whilst I have filled this role previously, I am looking forward to new challenges and projects and to assisting the Equestrian Australia Dressage Committee and High Performance Panel with their program for the future of Australian Dressage,” said Deb.
EADC Chair Prue Spurrett said an in-depth selection process took place and the standard of candidates was excellent.
“Deb is the best person to take us to the World Equestrian Games in Tryon and lead into Tokyo,” said Prue. “Deb will be integrally involved in the HP program as the Chef is a critical part of that team. WEG 2018 is a priority and she will attend the dressage test event early next year in order to assess the venue and necessary requirements for the preparation of travelling and settling the team into Tryon.”
The position is effective immediately and the formation of the High Performance Panel is now underway.
MacNicol already once served as Australian chef d'Equipe from 2005 till the 2008 Olympics in Hong Kong. She was also the High Performance Dressage Director in 2011-2012.
