Andreas Helgstrand, one of the world's leading dressage horse dealers and stallion owners, has decided to establish a German branch of his stallion station to better service the needs of the German breeding market.

Helgstrand will set up this German branch of his stallion station at equestrian center Sudenhof in Hagen, Germany, where his business partners Ulf and Eva Möller are based.  He will also be relocating several of his licensed stallions to Germany.

The breeding director in charge at Sudenhof will be Michael Schmidt, who recently handed in his resignation at Gestut Peterhof in Perl-Borg.

February 1 has been set as target date to start the operation there, though it is not yet certain if everything will be fully operational by that deadline.

"We are still thinking about which stallions we bring because we not 100% know if everything will be ready so that we can start at 1 February," Andreas Helgstrand told Eurodressage.

Sudenhof houses several renowned dressage riders aside from the Möller couple. Holga Finken and Steffen Frahm are also based there. The facility also used to house equine clinic Sudenhof, led by Belgian vet Mark Suls and German vet Eberhard Mettenleiter.

Some of Helgstrand's top producing dressage stallions are Revolution, Franklin, Grand Galaxy Win, Valverde, and For Emotion amongst many others.
