The 2018 Danish Warmblood Spring Auction of outstanding young sport horses and stallion prospects is promising to be a wonderful occasion for dressage enthusiasts to buy their future star. The auction will take place during the Danish warmblood stallion licensing on Saturday 10 March 2018 in Herning, Denmark. You can bid on your new diamond in the rough live at the event or from the comfort of your home by phone bidding. 

This is a wonderful opportunity to secure your next dressage or show jumping prospect for sport or breeding at this highly popular and action packed indoor equestrian event which celebrates Danish Warmblood breeding. 

Collection With Relatives of Super Stars Cassidy and Sezuan

The Spring Auction Collection features approximately 30 talented dressage and show jumping horses as well as young stallion candidates. The horses are bred out of the most exclusive bloodlines Denmark has to offer. 

One of the highlights in the collection is Atterupgaards Belafonte (by Belissimo M x Donnerhall). This striking liver chestnut suits the ambitious rider looking for a future top horse in international dressage. Belafonte is a noble, elegant and sporty youngster which excels with three outstanding paces and very high rideability. His sire is the international Grand Prix stallion Belissimo M and his dam is one of the strongest foundation mares in Danish breeding. She is also the dam of triple European Championship medal winning Atterupgaards Cassidy (Cathrine Dufour) and the elite broodmare, Atterupgaards Dicte, which has produced licensed stallions Fassbinder, Seebach and Botticelli.

The 4-year old mare Call Me Zorba (by Sezuan x De Noir) is an exciting prospect for future young horse championships. She is elegant, modern and extremely rideable, energetic and willing to work. This mare possesses three very good gaits and an outstanding pedigree, sired by the triple World Young Horse Champion Sezuan who is making his way to Grand Prix. Sezuan has made a name for himself through his very positive influence on rideability, canter and hind leg activity. Call Me Zorba is out of a strong dam line that produced Anna Kasprzak's Under 25 horse Langkjærgaard’s Donna Fetti.

The 5-year old mare Aagaardens Darbie Zalene (by Blue Hors Zack x Blue Hors Don Romantic) is a very rideable, dynamic and quick-learning young mare whose extremely powerful hind legs are not only eye catching but also a valuable asset for her future as a dressage horse. She has produced two foals via embryo transfer, while she was selected to compete in the Danish Young Horse Championship in Herning. A promising career in the dressage arena is ahead. Darbie Zalene is by the internationally successful Grand Prix stallion Zack (Daniel Bachmann) who has proven to match well to Donnerhall bloodlines. Darbie Zalene has been awarded a breeder medal in gold. Her full sister received the silver medal just as well as their dam. She is from a family of high quality mares.

Hesselhøj Gentleman (by Grand Galaxy Win x Tailormade Lancelot) is a high quality dressage horse with three very good basis gaits, high rideability and willingness to work. He is very supple with good self-carriage despite his young age. Sire Grand Galaxy Win is by Grand Prix stallion Apache and presents his first crop of very convincing stallion prospects in Herning this year. Gentleman’s grand dam has won Intermediaire II in 2017 and is now ready for Grand Prix. The great grand dam, gold medal mare Lindelygaards Mai-Tai, had a son selected for the DWB stallion licensing in 2017, Søbakkehus Sir Danois DWB that achieved the highest price of all young stallions at auction.

The sport horses can be test ridden by appointment before Saturday 10 March 11pm. The riding horses for auction will be presented at the 2018 Danish Warmblood Stallion Licensing on Friday and Saturday in arena M. The young colts are shown on the lunge line on Friday.

All horses in the auction have X-rays that are classified in group 1 or 2. Electronic copies of the X-rays on each horse in the auction are available online.
