After 25 years on the job, Blue Hors stud's breeding director Esben Møller, has handed in his resignation on Sunday 24 February 2019 effective immediately.
Møller celebrated his 25th work anniversary in December 2018.
Esben started at Blue Hors in 1993 moving from the German Holsteiner society back to Denmark. In 1997 he became the director.
At the beginning of his career Møller had practically free reign over the management of Kjell Kirk Kristiansen's dressage stallion station and breeding yard.
In recent years the management structure changed with a more in-depth professionalisation. Businessman Ole-Magnus Petersen, who came from Kristiansen's LEGO company, took over the general management of the stud. Møller was assigned sole control over the breeding part of the yard, while Ulri Sørensen got hired as the sport director of the facility in June 2016.
"Esben has been a key person in the positive development Blue Hors has undergone over the years. It is therefore with regret that our cooperation now stops," said Ole-Magnus Petersen, CEO of Blue Hors, today in a short press release.
Møller's biggest achievement at Blue Hor was his keen eye for scouting and acquiring top horses that stamped the yard: Don Schufro, Zack, and Matine. Blue Hors stud is probably the most successful stallion station in Europe that combines breeding success with top achievements at the highest level of international dressage sport.
