Japanese WEG team rider Masanao Takahashi made his first appearance aboard the 10-year old Dutch warmblood gelding Eaton H at the 2019 CDI-W Palm Beach Dressage Derby in Wellington, Florida on 27 February - 3 March 2019.
Eaton H is a 10-year old Dutch warmblood gelding by Wynton out of Ziolita H (by San Remo). He is bred by Mr Hoeflaken and was owned, trained and competed by Esmee van Gijtenbeek at national level in Holland. He was then known as Enton, although Eaton H is his official registered name.
In August 2017 the Japanese company Unitechno acquired the dark bay gelding as a Toyko hopeful for Masanao.
Takahashi did not make a swift show debut on Eaton at Grand Prix level, so in addition to Eaton H Unitechno purchased the schoolmaster Rubicon D in February 2018, which became Masanao's 2018 World Equestrian Games team horse.
The rider has also represented Japan at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games on Fabriano. The bay Hanoverian stallion was dropped to small tour level in 2018 for the Asian Games, where Japan won team gold.
At the 2019 CDI Wellington the new pair premiered at international Grand Prix level under the supervision of coach Christoph Koschel. In the Grand Prix they were third with 68.739% and in the Special they captured 11th place with 66.106%.
