Poinciana Farm, a state of the art equestrian facility in Florida, is going to change the experience of owning horses and training and competing on the Wellington show circuit.

The brain child and heart project of American Grand Prix rider Jane Cleveland, Poinciana Farm is a new, 13-acre farm under construction that will be open for the next Florida season.

Conveniently located in Loxahatchee Groves between the two main show grounds - the Global Dressage Festival and White Fences - and set in a more natural surrounding, the farm has 60 stalls and will offer full board.

A native of South Florida and an ambitious competitor in her own right, Cleveland knows exactly the pros and cons of living, training and competing in Florida.  She has decided to make the Wellington experience more carefree, without the typical closed-circuit hassle that drains money with every single aspect of horse ownership.

Poinciana Farm leaves the glitter and glam behind and aims to stand apart by being workable, better for training, and a better home for the horses; just what real horse people seek.

"Poinciana Farm will provide full board. Most barns in Wellington offer dry stalls, which means you get just the box and have to hire the labor, buy the feed and supplies. It's a big headache for many horse owners, let alone expensive," Cleveland explained. "At Poinciana we will make everything available: shipping to shows, an on call vet and farrier, as well as a real estate agent to help with housing rentals. All you have to do is get here."

Poinciana Farm will be one of the highest standard equestrian facilities the area has to offer. It will have more amenities than any other dressage farm in town. The 60-stall facility has been totally designed for the South Florida climate. It boasts a covered walker, a covered and open round pen, a covered arena, a climate controlled private vet work area, a double wide outside ring, plentiful grass paddocks, a dog park, an on site walking trail also with direct access to miles of canal side and town equestrian trails. Clients can use all appliances (laundry, freezers for boots, refrigerators) and there is plenty of storage.

The facilities are storm ready and open year around. They are available to seasonal and annual clients.

A Professional Yard with a Friendly Community Atmosphere

"Poinciana Farm is designed for horses to be safe and happy while offering a friendly community to their owners," said Cleveland. "Our priority is horse care, facility operation and protecting the camaraderie.  All client trainers are welcome, as are all dogs."

Jane believes that one difference Poinciana will offer is that the yard will be managed by someone fully engrained in the sport, herself. With a background in real estate development and business as well as through her own extensive riding experience, Jane knows what the demanding horse owner is after: top quality horse care in a positive and stimulating environment.

"All facilities feature maximum ventilation and herd orientation. The center Courtyard is the social center for clients with all wash racks facing the Club house," Jane continued. "The entire horse park from the barns back will have no cars or trucks, just horses and their people."

Cleveland is a USDF Gold Medalist and has purchased, trained, shown and sold a number of horses, training and showing to Grand Prix. She represented the USA at the 2002 World Championships for Young Dressage Horses in Verden (on Kavalier). With Monique, which she sourced as a foal in Denmark, she became the reserve champion at the 2017 U.S. Small Tour Championships in Gladstone. Jane has had an extensive career as a real estate fund manager and developer while also dedicating her life to horses;  she is putting that experience to work developing and managing this farm project where she will also keep her own horses. She currently serves as Chairman of the Equestrian Preserve Committee in Wellington, is active on the Wellington Chamber of Commerce’s Equestrian Committee and serves on the United States Dressage Federation Audit Committee.

"Poinciana will have an open environment regarding trainers," said Jane. "There will be no one trainer in charge or dominant. Clients are welcome to have their own trainers come in, and trainers are welcomed to bring their clients to board. Also the farm staff will be experienced."

"Get yourself and your horses to Wellington and we will take it from there," Jane concluded.
