Jazz, Damon Hill and Escolar lead the German Breeding Value indices of 2019 which the breeding department of the German equestrian federation released last week.
Since 2019 the German NF makes three separate breeding value indices: the HEK-index, which includes national and international show results, the sport breeding value index, for which only national results count, and the young stallion index, which take young horse classes, the stallion performance test and mare tests into account.
The KWPN stallion Jazz (by Cocktail x Ulster) leads the HEK index for dressage with 228 points and a 91% reliability. Don Schufro (by Donnerhall x Pik Bube) is in second place with 199 points and a 95% reliability. He is followed by Breitling (198 / 88%) and Painted Black (192 / 74%).
The Westfalian Damon Hill (by Donnerhall x Rubinstein) takes position 1 on the sport breeding value index based on national results. He scores 167 points with a 90% reliability. Jazz is second here with 164 points and 90% reliability.
In the Young stallion Index the 10-year old Westfalian stallion Escolar (by Estobar x Furst Piccolo) is leading the ranking with 167 points and a reliability of 95%. The late Don Juan de Hus (by Jazz) is second with 165 points and a reliability of 92%.
