Hesselhøj Donkey Boy, the 8-year old Danish warmblood licensed stallion and multiple WCYH medalist, has relocated to Helgstrand Dressage, where he will stand at stud and be trained by Betina Jaeger.
Donkey Boy (by ERA Dancing Hit x Milan) is owned by Norwegian Kristin Andresen, who for years has collaborated with the stallion's rider Jan Møller Christensen as well as with Ib Kirk's stallion station Katrinelund in Denmark.
Her decision to alter Donkey Boy's training and stud base does not mean that she has severed ties with Christensen or Kirk.
"I will never leave Jan, but he does not have time to do the stallion station part, and Ib Kirk has no Grand Prix rider," Andresen told Eurodressage. "So it will be Betina Jaeger as a rider and the horse will be stationed at Helgstrand. He is not sold."
Donkey Boy was named premium stallion at the 2015 Danish Warmblood stallion licensing. He was the high scorer at the autumn stallion performance test that year.
Under Jan Møller Christensen, he made history to win the Danish Young Horse Championships four consecutive years in a row (2016-2019) from 4 to 7-year old. They won bronze at the World Young Horse Championships in Ermelo in 2017 and silver in 2019. He was fifth in 2018.
Donkey Boy will be presented one last time by Christensen at this week's Danish Warmblood Stallion Licensing in Herning, after which he'll move to Helgstrand in Vodskov, where Betina Jaeger will take over the reins.
