The United States Equestrian Federation has issued an update for riders aiming to qualify for the 2020 North American Youth Riders Championships in Traverse City, Mich., from August 5-9, 2020.
USEF disclosed that with the ever-changing circumstances relating to the COVID-19 pandemic, it cannot make any decisions concerning qualification processes
"The uncertainty of the timeline of the COVID-19 pandemic and resulting social distancing rules prevents us from creating a definite plan at this time," said the USEF. "however, we are currently evaluating all options for potential qualification paths and selection procedures for these Championships and team competitions."
It continued: "We are working directly with the other National Federations within our FEI group, including Canada and Mexico, and keeping athlete and horse welfare as a top priority while we evaluate all potential options for these Championships. Once we’ve finalized a path forward, we will communicate the timeline immediately to those interested in participating in this year’s NAYC."
"We know that things are changing quickly and unexpectedly, and we appreciate your patience and support during this time," USEF concluded.
