The 6-year old Escamillo was the winner of the only Bundeschampionate qualification classes held for horses on rainy and windy Friday 21 May 2021 at the Grafschafter Horse Festival in Haftenkamp, Germany.
The 5-year old L-level dressage horse test turned out to be not a qualifier, even though 25 horses competed in it. The 5-year old qualifier is scheduled for Hagen in June.
6-YO: Escamillo
The 6-year old division was equally packed with 26 combinations riding the M-level dressage horse test, which was judged by Reinhard Richenhagen, Carola Straube-Thiel and Anke de Boer.
Thomas Schulze and Belgian Caroline van Zele's Westfalian mare Forever Valentine (by Franziskus x Laurentio) were the runners-up with 8.3 points. The bay mare received 8 for walk and canter, and 8.5 for trot, submission and general impression.
Annika Korte and Maike Kraus's Oldenburg mare Tara OLD (by Tomahawk x Hotline) from the Okel qualifier on 16 May straight to the Haftenkamp one with the hopes of improving their score. While in Okel they got stuck at 7.9 and did not get the ticket to Warendorf, in Haftenkamp they succeeded on their mission and finished third with 8.2 points. The mare received 7.5 for walk, 8.5 for trot and canter, 8 for submission and 8.5 for general impression.
