Horse Sport Ireland has nominated Vicky Campbell on Habouche as the sole Irish representatives at the 2021 European Dressage Championships for Young Riders (U21) at Oliva Nova, Spain from July 5th to 11th 2021.

Vicky (20) from Rostrevor, Co Down, has been a part of the HSI Youth Dressage High Performance Programme from 2015 and previously represented Ireland at the 2017 Pony European championships in Kaposvar Hungary. At the end of the initial lockdown in 2020 she moved from her home to the UK to be based with international Grand Prix rider Anna Ross where she has been working and training for almost a year now.

Habouche (Holly) is a 9-year-old Grey Mare (Ampere x Sydney) owned by Brazilian Olympic Eventing rider Marcelo Tosi and Anna Ross.

Speaking after the announcement, Anne Marie Dunphy, Horse Sport Ireland Youth Dressage Team Manager said:

“I am delighted to select Vicky for her second European Championships for Team Ireland. Despite Covid restrictions limiting competition opportunities Vicky has forged a great partnership with Habouche and I look forward to seeing them take their place at Oliva Nova.”
