The Swiss equestrian federation is the first to announce its team for the 2021 European Dressage Championships to be held at Hof Kasselmann in Hagen, Germany, on 6 - 12 September 2021.
While Estelle Wettstein represented Switzerland as an individual at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, the other Swiss A-squad riders gathered one last time at the CDI Herzlake for a head-to-head competition before the announcement of the team.
Team captain Evelyne Niklaus and team trainer Oliver Oelrich will be joining the following riders in Hagen:
- Elena Fernandez - Sueno II, owned by Aki Ellenberger
- Antonella Joannou - Dandy de la Roche CMF CH, owned by Antonella Joannou
- Estelle Wettstein - West Side Story OLD, owned by Marie-Line Wettstein (reserve horse Quaterboy)
- Birgit Wientzek Pläge - Hot Secret, owned by Edwin Nussbaumer
For the 2021 European Under 25 Championships which coincide with the senior championship in Hagen, Switzerland will field one individual:
- Charlotta Rogerson - Famora, owned by James Rogerson
