Karoline Ravnsbo, New Rider of Anna Zibrandtsen's Dorado

Anna Zibrandtsen's small tour horse Dorado, a former World Young Horse Championship medallist, has found a new rider in Danish Karoline Ravnsbo.

Dorado is a 14-year old KWPN licensed stallion by Krack C out of Zinni van de Westen (by Rousseau). He is bred by Cees Kikkert.

WCYH Bronze

Initially owned by the breeder in partnership with horse dealer Ad Valk, the chestnut was licensed for KWPN breeding but did not cover much. He has only 50 foals registered with the KWPN up till 2015.

Under Emmelie Scholtens, he was third in the 2013 Pavo Cup Finals and won bronze at the 2013 World Championships for Young Dressage Horses in Verden. They were the runners-up in the 2013-2014 KWPN Stallion Competition Finals and at the 2014 World Young Horse Championships they finished sixth in the finals. In 2016 they captured another bronze at the Dutch Small Tour Championships.

Sold to Zibrandtsen

In September 2016 Dorado sold to Anna Zibrandtsen and the horse moved to her yard, Bregnerødgård in Denmark.

They made their show debut in February 2017 at Prix St Georges level at the regional show in Hedensted and scored 69.956% to place third and 72.281% to finish second. A month later they rode their second competition in Holte, where they won the Prix St Georges with 72.719%.

Zibrandtsen then started to train Dorado towards Grand Prix but unfortunately, he sustained an injury and had a long break from sport. He never made a come back to the arena, even though he returned to full training.

New Rider Found in Ravnsbo

In December 2021 Zibrandtsen hinted that she was thinking of giving the ride on Dorado to a youth rider, which Eurodressage picked up and posted an article on. The response was overwhelming.

The 17-year old Danish junior Karoline Mathilde Ravnsbo has been chosen as his new rider.

"I'm really grateful that Dorado is now in the stable," said Ravnsbo. "He seems like an absolutely fantastic horse, and the last few weeks with him have been really wonderful. He has the most wonderful personality and has just captured the heart of us all."

Ravnsbo made her international show debut as a junior rider in 2021 on two horses: Gorklintgaards Torrero (by Temptation x Sunny Boy) and Atterupgaards Kawaski (by Krack C x Stedinger). In 2020 she competed nationally on ponies with Jaegersborgs Nadine.
