Danish Horses Selected for 2022 World Young Horse Championships

The Danish Equestrian Federation (DRF) and Danish warmblood society have announced the names of the combinations that will represent Denmark at the 2022 World Championships for young dressage horses. 

The 2022 WCYH will take place in Ermelo, The Netherlands, on 7 - 11 September 2022. 

The DRF and DWB held its final training and selection trial in Vilhelmsborg on 20 July 2022 where they made their pick. A panel of five selectors was in charge - Ane Marie Jensen and Kristian Bech, judges Gunilla Nyman and Birthe Lyder Nielsen, and Grand Prix rider and Danish youth team trainer Dennis Fisker.

The selection of the group of 7-year olds is not yet complete. Three pairs have already been picked, one slot is still undecided as well as the reserve slots. The selection committee might hold another selection moment to decide on those.

So far, they have already selected:

5-year olds
  • Søbakkehus Maude (by  Hesselhøj Donkey Boy x Wilkens) - Allan Grøn

  • Slangerupgaards Flottenheimer (by Franklin x Scolari) - Eric Guardia Martinez

The first reserve is Anne-Marie Hosbond on Danésa Nord (by Hesselhøj Donkey Boyx Belissimo M), the second reserve is Kathrine Springborg on Springsborgs Abiza (by Ibiza x Rubin Royal). 

6-year olds

The first reserve is Maria Vasconcelos on Figaro D (by Franklin x Bøgegårdens Laurino), the second reserve is Jan Møller Christensen on Hesselhøj Dream (by Hesselhøj Donkey Boy x Tailormade Lancelot).
