Equestrian Management Agency has launched an educational academy for all riders with the first course being centred around “The Business of Being a Rider”
It is the first platform of its kind that focuses on the commercial aspects of being a rider and will be developed next year to also share insight and content for the development of new business.
The Academy launch marks a landmark year for the EMA brand, who has seen the athlete management roster expand with riders such as World Number One and Two in Eventing, Tim and Jonelle Price, through to Team World Champion, Daniel Bachmann Andersen.
The Business of Being a Rider
The first course from the EMA Academy spans the business of being a rider. It covers building your own brand, to sponsorship, through to social media and everything it entails when creating your profile as a professional athlete; the company states that nothing exists like this online.
“We will constantly add to this course, as things evolve in this ever-changing landscape.
Our primary mission and purpose with the Academy are to make education available for every rider, whatever your level and wherever you are in the world. We have an incredible and experienced team working on this” - states the Academy Lead
Just two weeks ago, EMA held its first masterclass in the United States at the expanding World Equestrian Center with Carl Hester. Eurodressage was onsite and covered the event.
It marked the first endeavour by the agency in the US, since it opened an office there in June of this year, with plans to continue to expand its events division internationally in 2023. The company has also enjoyed consulting with key events in 2022, such as CHIO Aachen; a collaboration they take great pride in.
Strategic Management Team
EMA has been the strategic management team behind some of the most upcoming and well-known riders in the sport for approaching ten years, notably Charlotte Dujardin who has been with the company exclusively since 2012.
They have recently added a new agent to team, Kyle Holden, with plans to expand the roster further in 2023, and they are encouraging any professional rider who has thought of representation and building their commercial careers to approach the company if they wish to learn more about what they offer.
What will no doubt be popular is this launch of the EMA Academy which is for all riders of any level; an educational, online hub where members can learn about what it takes to gain commercial success. The platform is innovative and will form a key part with the EMA Group.
We are so proud to have this venture as part of the EMA Group and look forward to all that comes next for this new community – states EMA Founder, Abby Newell
