Canadian stallion owner MJ Proulx has expanded her impressive collection of imported Dutch warmblood stallions with newest addition, Ferdeaux.

The KWPN sire will arrive at Canadream farm on time for the 2023 breeding season.

Ferdeaux is a 13-year old KWPN stallion by Bordeaux out of Part Two (by Ferro x Zonneglans).

Premium Stallion

Ferdeaux is bred by the late Gerrit van Esterik and was originally named For You Two.

He was owned by the breeder in partnership with Joop van Uytert and as a duo they presented him at the 2013 KWPN Stallion Licensing in 's Hertogenbosch, where he became the third ranked premium stallion.

At the 2013 KWPN Spring Stallion Performance Testing he scored 84 points with 8 for walk and trot, 9 for canter and 8.5 for suppleness, self carriage, temperament, rideability and dressage potential.

Ferdeaux has made his mark as a KWPN breeding stallion, having sired four licensed sons so far, including World Young Horse Championship finalist Las Vegas, as well as Jarville, Jerveaux, and Matideaux MVN.

Kirsten Brouwer

In 2014 Kirsten Brouwer was allocated the ride on the dark bay stallion and it became a successful partnership.

Ferdeaux wins the 2016 KWPN Stallion competition
Under Brouwer the bay stallion finished 10th at the 2015 World Young Horse Championships and second at the 2015 Pavo Cup Finals. He won the 2016 KWPN Stallion Competition Finals. He missed out on the 2016 World Championships, but returned in 2017 as a 7-year old and finished 11th in the Finals.

In 2018 Ferdeaux returned to stallion station Van Uytert and was briefly competed at national small tour level by Dutch Olympian Hans Peter Minderhoud. An injury sidelined the stallion but in May 2022 he made a come back to the arena under Renate van Uytert in the Prix St. Georges.

New Chapter in Canada

The WFFS negative stallion will now begin a new chapter in his life at MJ Proulx' Canadream Farm.

Proulx had the help of horse dealer Amelie Kovac to find the next stallion for her roster.

At the 2017 World YH Championships
"I told her my requirements: I want a super stallion that is known to produce good character, rideability and good gaits. He must also have clean radiographs and good fertility," Proulx told Eurodressage. "Amelie immediately answered back with, “maybe I could get Ferdeaux for you”, that was it! I didn't want her to search any further."

Ferdeaux is joining KWPN super stars Wynton, Knock Out, and Tolegro at Canadream Farm.

"He will be available fresh shipped semen to Canadian and American mare owners mid March 2023 when he comes out of quarantine," said Proulx. "I am always looking for new super stallions to add to our stallion barn."
