German Grand Prix team rider Benjamin Werndl has accepted the invitation to the be the guest judge rider for the 4-year old class at the 2023 Swedish Warmblood Young Horse Championships in Flyinge in the autumn.
The event takes place during the "SWB Equestrian Weeks," the SWB young horse championships and breeders trophy for dressage and show jumping. Dressage is from 27 September till 1 October 2023.
"The aim of SWB Equestrian Weeks with Breeders Trophy is to promote the basic training of young horses, and having sought-after and skilled test riders is an integral part of our long-term goal," Swedish warmblood communicated.
"Benjamin is truly a remarkable rider, having secured a team bronze medal and an individual fourth place at the 2022 World Championships in Herning. He represents the classical German training method but always prioritizes the well-being of the horse as an individual, which resonates with us," says Tomas Torgersen, Senior Advisor for SWB Equestrian Weeks.
Werndl succeeds Cathrine Dufour who was test rider in 2022 and 2021. Previous test riders have been Anna Blomgren, Emmelie Scholtens, Hella Kuntz, Manuel Bammel, Patrik Kittel, and Charlotte Dujardin amongst others.
