Following the 2023 CDIO Aachen, the dressage selection committee of the German Olympic Equestrian Committee (DOKR) has drafted the short list of riders in the running for German team selection for the 2023 European Dressage Championships in Riesenbeck on 4 - 11 September.
The German equestrian federation held two team qualifiers: the German Championships in Balve and the CDIO Aachen - which counted for team selection.
The German FN does not yet call it a team but instead refers to a "long list" which couldn't be any shorter. The definite team will be named on 15 August.
The "long" listed riders are
- Jessica von Bredow-Werndl - TSF Dalera BB
- Sönke Rothenberger - Fendi
- Frederic Wandres - Bluetooth OLD (reserve horse: Duke of Britain FRH)
- Isabell Werth - Quantaz
The reserve riders are:
- Matthias Alexander Rath - Thiago GS
- Katharina Hemmer - Denoix PCH
- Bianca Nowag-Aulenbrock - Florine OLD
