Emma Kanerva's rising Grand Prix horse Borderline has moved to France. Dressprod announced that the horse has been sold to French Young Rider Emeline Schevingt.
Borderline is a 10-year old Hanoverian gelding by Bordeaux out of Holina (by Hotline x Rohdiamant x Castro). He is bred by Paul Schockemöhle at Gestüt Lewitz.
Emma Kanerva
Borderline sold to Gerd Saborowski, the sponsor of Finnish Olympian Emma Kanerva, as a youngster.
Trained by Kanerva, the bay was first competed as a 5-year old in August 2019. In 2020 he qualified for the Bundeschampionate and finished 11th in the 6-year old dressage horse finals in Warendorf.
By May 2021 he moved up to Prix St Georges level and in 2022 he competed in the Nurnberger Burgpokal classes for developing PSG horses. He did the qualifiers in Elmlohe and at Hof Bettenrode.
The pair moved up to Grand Prix level at the end of 2022. Their first Inter II was in Buchholz in November, but in the spring of 2023 they dropped back down to small tour and did their first international at the CDI Hagen, where they finished fourth twice. In July 2023 they campaigned in the national Inter II and Short Grand Prix in Elmlohe, the pair's last show.
Sold to France
Borderline has now been sold to the Schevingt family in France, as Dressprod reported.
Their 19-year old daughter Emeline Schevingt made her international show debut as a Young Rider in March 2023 aboard Skate Moss, a 14-year old Hanoverian by Soliman de Hus x Jazz, previously shown by Lara Subileau at international small tour level in 2020.
The Schevingt family is building a huge equestrian centre and breeding farm in the Macon-Bourge en Bresse area on a property of 200 hectares.
Emeline is scheduled to make her show debut on Borderline at the CDI Le Mans in February.
