Australian para dressage team rider Emma Booth has obtained the ride on a new horse in this 2024 Paralympic year. Booth will be trying for Paris with Saimir.
Saimir is an 8-year-old chestnut Hanoverian gelding by Scolari out of Wyonna (by Weltmeyer x Wendenburg x Grande). He is bred by the Walther brothers.

First owned by a syndicate consisting of rider Marco Bührig, and Klindworth & Piontek sport horses, the chestnut gelding has been competed up to M-level.
Tatjana Piontek made Saimir's show debut in 2020 in the riding horse classes and showed him up to A-level that year. As of 2021 Marco Bührig has been competing the horse at regional shows in the north of Germany. Their last CDN together was in Worpswede in September 2024 at M-level, which they won.

"Marco has done a wonderful job producing such a well balanced and correctly educated horse," Booth posted. "He knows Saimir inside and out, and for this reason we’re excited to be basing ourselves at their barn (in Germany). We’ll be commencing a daily training schedule this week and will be working towards our first Paris qualifying event in Waregem, Belgium on 19 April which is just over 4 weeks from now!"
Booth started as an eventing rider and switched to para dressage after becoming paraplegic in a car accident in 2013. In She rode Mogelvangs Zidane at the 2016 Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro in Grade II (13th and 5th), the 2018 World Equestrian Games in Caen in Grade III (4th and 5th) and the 2021 Paralympics in Tokyo in Grade III (11th in the team test, 5th in the Freestyle). After the sudden passing of her horse, Booth continued with Maree Tomkinson's Furst Deluxe and rode him at the 2022 World Para Championships in Herning (6th and 8th).
