MM Sweet Pea is the 2024 British Young Pony Champion in the 5-year old division and a real FEI pony level prospect.

Also known as Gem at home, MM Sweet Pea is a smart, charismatic, and very intelligent British Riding Pony mare. She is currently training and competing at the Elementary level, just one level below the FEI pony test.

In the two competitions she has attended this year, she has gained 86 percent and 81.8 percent in a British Pony National Test which is equivalent to an Elementary level test difficulty-wise. On 7 July 2024, she won the 5-year-old British National Champion title and was the highest-scoring pony of the National Championship Young Pony classes across all divisions. Interestingly, her sire Woodlander Sir Gorgeous (by Woodlander Santana x Synod Rum Punch) won the same title at 5 years old on a score of 8.4.

This pony is a top pony in the making, she is a forward and fun ride on the flat, hacks happily on 60mph roads and in open fields, loves to jump, she would excel in pure showjumping or eventing, although we focused on dressage as this is what she was bred for. At home, she is the most loveable pony who forever wants kisses and cuddles from her person, she wants to be someone's best friend and thrives on a relationship with her rider. She has been brought on slowly and correctly with variety and cross-training in mind to allow optimal conditions for her body and mind development. Until spring 2024 she had lived out 24/7 with her gelding friend.

MM Sweet Fancy was bought from the breeder at 1 year old and kept in the same home ever since. She comes from a great Dam line which has already received a Gold Premium from the studbook SPSS. MM Sweet Pea was one of the top 5 pony foals selected across the entirety of the UK to qualify for the Elite Pony Foal Tour Championship and she finished 3rd nationally. Her one-year-old younger full sister, MM Sweet Sensation, came 4th in the recent 4yo National Championship test gaining 76,6%. MM Sweet Pea has been produced under the watchful eye of Britain's top trainers and GP riders who competes representing Britain internationally; she speaks very highly of the pony and references can be provided on request.

Sire: Woodlander Sir Gorgeous
Her sire Woodlander Sir Gorgeous was born in 2012 by the Sir Donnerhall stallion, Santana, who is from one of the best Hanoverian dam lines and boasts a fabulous cocktail of dressage performance blood. His Dam Synod Galina was bred at the world-famous Welsh Synod Pony Stud, which has bred multiple Welsh Champions. Sir Gorgeous, who gained an Elite Futurity Premium (Dressage) as a foal with a score of 9.12, began his BD career in 2016 as a 4-year-old and already has a fantastic BD record, regularly scoring 70+%. He qualified for the 2016 British Dressage Young Pony 4-year-old Championship winning the qualification class at Addington with judge Judy Harvey awarding him a 9 for his trot, 9 for attitude, and 8.5 for his canter. He went on to become Reserve Champion at the Hartpury Festival of Dressage beating other top-class ponies. Woodlander Sir Gorgeous is one of the very few ponies competing who competed at the PSG level. He sold via Eurodressage to Florida, USA.

Dam's sire: FS Champion De Luxe
FS Champion De Luxe was the impressive winner of the 2000 riding pony koering in Aachen, winner at the NRW meetings of 2001 and 2002, and the Rheinisches championship. He has competed and won level A and L dressage classes and was Pony Bundeschampion of 2001 and 2002. He won his stallion performance test in Neustadt-Dosse with four perfect scores of ten! At the Berlin Bundessiegerhengst in 2003, he won both the dressage and versatility classes, prompting Hans Heinrich Stien to write in the press that Champion de Luxe is an "exceptional, superior animal."

Grand Dam Sire: FS Cocky Dundee
FS Cocky Dundee was a 1991 born Dutch bred pony stallion by Cocky Dundas xx out of Bloklands Sheila (by Valentino x Conquistador) and was bred in the Netherlands. As a breeding stallion, FS Cocky Dundee sired 8 licensed sons and 7 state premium mares. His most famous son is without a doubt the highly popular pony breeding stallion FS Champion de Luxe, but also his other licensed sons Cash and Carry, Crockodile Rock, FS Challenger, and FS Chiwago made a name for themselves. He was first licensed at the 1993 Rhinelander pony licensing in Aachen, Germany, and did his 30-day stallion performance test in Munster-Handorf in 1995, scoring 124.13 points

MM Sweet Pea is offered for sale due to her owner and rider's professional and family commitments resulting in time limitations, she is offered for sale only to top competition homes for her future potential to be realised, if such a home cannot be found, she will remain in her current home and will be produced to medium level (FEI Pony Test) and campaigned in the 6yo pony class next year.

The price reflects her 3 top quality gaits, she gained 9.0 for her way of going and 9.2 for general impression, the walk was described as rhythmical and correct, the trot as regular and naturally rhythmical, and the canter as very balanced, willing and uphill, judges remarked on her correct training adhering to the scales of training and lots of potential for the higher levels.
