Core Focus on the Well-Being of the Horse
The EQUITANA program is always directed by Event Director Tina Uetz. Her guiding inspiration in creating the lineup:
“Whether it’s for clinics or shows, our core focus is always on the well-being of the horses. In this sense, EQUITANA sees itself as a hub for the equestrian world. Be it competitive, classical, or western riding, every horse enthusiast wants the best for their horses, and we provide the inspiration they seek. As the industry’s leading fair, our goal is to showcase the best of everything, enabling the highest quality of life for the horses and maximum joy for their riders.”
Her philosophy aligns perfectly with that of the featured performers.
Learning from the Best: The Werndl Siblings Return to Essen
In 2019, four-time Olympic champion Jessica von Bredow-Werndl and her brother, World Championship team bronze medalist Benjamin Werndl, were already a hit at EQUITANA with their sold-out training night. Now, the world’s most successful dressage siblings are returning. On March 10, 2025, they will host their training evening, Jessica von Bredow-Werndl and Benjamin Werndl LIVE powered by Aubenhausen Club. The Werndls are passionate about sharing their knowledge and experiences—all for the benefit of the horses. Their mission is to take their audience along on the long, exciting journey in which talented four-legged athletes grow into Grand Prix horses and sometimes even medalists.
“Supporting our horses on their journey is both a privilege and a challenge for us,” says Benjamin Werndl. “Our goal is to connect with them, become their partners, unlock their potential, and bring out their brilliance. Every step is a lesson for us as well, as every horse has a unique personality. During this evening, we hope to demonstrate how we approach this in practice.”
Horses of All Levels Combined with Equestrian Fitness
The evening will cover work with horses of different types and training levels, as well as equestrian fitness—a critical factor in becoming a better rider.
As Jessica von Bredow-Werndl puts it: “With greater body awareness, you have a better connection with your horse and more balance in the saddle.” They will also address the mental challenges riders face—not only when Olympic medals are at stake.
The Werndls are already eagerly anticipating their appearance in Essen and are deep into planning Jessica von Bredow-Werndl and Benjamin Werndl LIVE powered by Aubenhausen Club.
Benjamin Werndl: “We are very much looking forward to EQUITANA. What unites us all is our love for horses, and we are deeply committed to helping riders and horses achieve a better connection.” So, prepare for an evening full of inspiration for every horse lover!
