For over 20 years, the KWPN Select Sale has been the launchpad for horses excelling at the highest levels of equestrian sport. Dinja van Liere’s Hartsuijker, Larissa Pauluis’s Olympic mount Flambeau and the amazing Blue Hors Zack have all emerged from this prestigious auction.
This year’s collection, presented during the 2025 KWPN Stallion Show, promises to continue this legacy.
The dressage collection features a remarkable group of stallions with exceptional bloodlines, ready to captivate both breeders and riders worldwide. Among the highlights is Sunshine (Total McLaren x Apache), a half-brother to the KWPN-approved stallion Pride, who fetched an impressive €200,000 at a previous KWPN Select Sale. Sunshine comes out the full sister of World Champion Jovian, underscoring his remarkable genetic heritage.
Half brother of top seller Pride
Simba V.O.D. (Fynch Hatton x Jazz) is another standout. This stallion is the half-brother of Kjento, the double World Champion who recently celebrated a victorious Grand Prix debut.
Suomi STMT (Bordeaux x Ampère) further enhances the collection with his pedigree. He hails from the half-sister of the KWPN-approved stallions UB40 and Davino V.O.D., adding both proven performance and breeding potential to his appeal.
Adding to the Total McLaren progeny is Shemar I.K. (Total McLaren x Glamourdale), who traces back to the dam line of the international Grand Prix stallion Westpoint.
Modern pedigrees meet proven performance
The dressage selection also includes stallions like Salvation ES (Bloomberg x Vitalis), whose dam boasts five scores of 9 in her IBOP test and is supported by two mares competing at Small Tour level.
Scaramouche (Glock’s Toto Jr x Negro) also descends from a Small Tour mare, ensuring a foundation of proven ability. Stromae (Las Vegas x Sir Donnerhall I) adds further depth to the group, being out of a half-sister to Grand Prix mare Electra who already performed in the Small Tour herself.
A legacy of excellence
“The KWPN Select Sale consistently offers a superior collection of stallions, and this year’s dressage group is no exception,” says Rom Vermunt, one of the selection committee members. “We’ve built on past successes, and I truly believe this is our strongest lineup yet.” The KWPN Select Sale is not only an opportunity to acquire a future star but also a chance to access world-class genetics that can elevate breeding programs to new heights.
