The world of Lusitano horse breeding has exciting news for 2025! Renowned stallions Escorial and Nuelo das Lezírias have arrived in Spain at Mythos Mantovani, where they are standing at stud with fresh semen.
The move of these internationally proven dressage stallions is part of the Mythos Mantovani project, a partnership between Mantovani Horses and Centro Hípico Mythos and carried out with the support of the Spanish Association of Purebred Lusitano Breeders (AEPSL).
Expansion of the Lusitano Breed in Spain
With the significant growth of Purebred Lusitano (PSL) breeding in Spain, this initiative aims to facilitate access to fresh semen of two of Portugal's most valued stallions today.
Thais Rico, owner of Centro Hípico Mythos, added that "bringing Escorial and Nuelo das Lezírias to Spain is a significant step toward for the promotion of Purebred Lusitano horses in the country. Our mission at Centro Hípico Mythos is to further strengthen the presence of the the PSL breed in Spain and on the global stage."

If a licensed veterinarian provides proof of abortion, embryonic resorption, or non-pregnancy, the client may repeat the breeding in the following year. - The first semen collection is included in the breeding price.
