2025 CDI-W Mariakalnok
10th Anniversary of the CDI-W Mariakalnok in Hungary

Dressage Center Máriakálnok will be hosting an extraordinary sporting and social event on 15 - 18 May 2025. The Máriakálnok Dressage Festival with World Cup qualifier is one of Hungary's largest and most established equestrian competitions that will delight participants and spectators alike with fascinating and exciting programs.

10th Anniversary

The Jubilee Dressage Festival and World Cup are an internationally recognized CDI-W dressage competition. The event series began in 2016 with the aim of establishing an annual international dressage festival where Hungary’s best riders could compete against the world’s top equestrians.

The Máriakálnok World Cup offers Hungarian riders in all categories, from pony riders to senior competitors, the opportunity to earn qualification points for the European Championships and other major continental and Olympic events. Additionally, riders can collect World Cup points necessary for securing a place in the 2026 World Cup Final in Fort Worth, Texas.

The Road to the 2025 European Championship

In 2017, after 36 years, Hungary was once again able to field a senior team at the European Championship in Gothenburg, a feat repeated in 2021 and 2023.

From young horse and pony level to Grand Prix
The Hungarian team has set its sights on the 2025 European Championship in Crozet, France, aiming to field a strong team and hopefully secure a spot in the Kur to Music finals.

Máriakálnok Dressage Festival will be a crucial step in achieving this goal for Hungarians who will be able to ride on home soil against international opponents, while being assessed by  judges who will also officiate at the European Championship and Olympic qualifiers.

The Máriakálnok Dressage Festival serves as an important qualification event for young Hungarian riders aspiring to the European Championships for Youth, while young horses can also earn qualification points for the World Championships for Young Horses in Verden in August.

Máriakálnok – A Renowned Name in the Dressage World

Máriakálnok has become a well-respected name in the international dressage community. In October 2015, Róbert Ács and Anikó Losonczy took over the facility, maintaining the tradition set by their predecessors. Their main objective was to further develop the competition system and establish a prestigious annual dressage festival where Hungarian riders could test their skills against the world’s best.

The successes of the past nine years have proven that they have achieved their goal—the Máriakálnok Dressage Center is now globally recognized in dressage circles. While Ács departed from the team in June 2019, Dressurzentrum Máriakálnok continued its work under Anikó Komjáthy-Losonczy’s leadership. The center remains dedicated to its long-standing objectives, ensuring a high-quality environment that meets the needs of both horses and riders.

An Internationally Recognized Event

The festival’s reputation has spread worldwide, attracting riders not only from Europe but also from India, Korea, Thailand, Japan, and the United States.
